Tropical Bathroom Decor

What’s missing in this tropical bathroom decor setup? Simplicity!

This is the perfect example of what a bathroom looks like when you’ve added too much of one particular thing. Can we say over kill with the plants?

The plants consume the space and give a feeling of claustefobia.

Bathroom decor with a tropical feel can be fun and interesting and doesn’t have to include a pink flamingo.

What does tropical mean to you? I think of a warm ocean breeze, lots of green plants, blue skies, sandy beaches and green water. How does all of the translate into your bathroom decor?

Tropical decor doesn’t have to take you into over kill in your space. You can set your entire environment up with tropical accents using plants, color and accessories.

Lets begin your creation with a plan. There are certain things that you’ll need to have in place and know about your bathroom before you begin your decorating task.

How big is your bathroom? Will it need a complete renovation or is this just an enhancement job?

Do you actually live on or near the water? Your choice of material will take on a new dimension if you do.

Let’s work with a space that needs updating. You want it to have a tropical bathroom decor theme.

Your ceiling will be a slate blue and your walls will be candlelight white.

Your shower will have an accent wall with slate blue mosaic tile and frosted shower crescent moon shaped doors.

Orchids sit on your double sink vanity and bathtub ledge. A water fall is tucked away on one of the shelves along with sea shells to add ambiance to your space.

This is just one idea for your tropical bathroom decor.

Here is another one. Let’s take it to the green side this time. Sage green. A simple bathroom design with a complete mirrored wall in sage green mosaic tile.

A beautiful aloe vera plant sits in the middle of your double sink vanity.

How about a bathroom that actually opens up to the water? That’s right, no walls! At least when you don’t want walls. You can open and close the walls when you choose to.

Accessories for Your Tropical Bathroom Oasis

Flowers - We’ve mentioned earlier two plants in particular, the orchid and the aloe vera plant.

Adding the Bird of Paradise, Yucca, and other strategically placed foliage to your mix, You can definitely use these plants to enhance your tropical oasis.

TowelsWhether they are elegant paper hand towels or cloth towels, you can add color and texture to your tropical bathroom space.

Shells, Beads and Balls - You can’t have a tropical bathroom decor without sea shells, beads, rocks, pebbles and sand. Sometimes you’ll find them in one container typically sitting on a vanity or the floor as an accent.

Pictures and Images - Pictures of the water, flowers and plants, collage, anchors and bamboo. These are all wall coverings that will enhance your tropical space.

Mirrors and Lighting - As much of a necessity as these two items might be, the choices and designs can be purchased in colors and materials that will have a tropical island appearance.

Your tropical bathroom decor doesn’t have to be limited to a warm or hot climate.

Sometimes you need an image that reminds you of the island breeze that you love so much, especially if you live in Fargo, ND.
