Corner Vanities For Small Bathroom Spaces

Corner vanities to the rescue! What are the advantages of having this type of vanity in your bathroom?

They obviously take up less space and are the perfect solution for small bathroom spaces.

While visiting my husband’s family in Virginia, it was always a stretch during family gathering when it came to the bathroom.

His Aunt lived in an old Victorian style house and it had one bathroom on the second floor.

It was huge but that was no compensation when there was a line for the bathroom.

She raised 10 children in this house!

One of her sons was very good with his hands and could naturally build anything you might think of.

So he decided to take the space under the stairs and turn it into a powder room.

Talk about a small bathroom space. The space under the stairs was not as deep as you might think and you couldn’t stretch your arms out without touching the walls.

If you were any taller than 6 feet, you were in trouble. But it gave you the opportunity to save your bladder and not have to wait in line for the one upstairs.

Because of the angle of the stairs a wall was created and a toilet and corner vanity was all that could fit into this space.

Wall sconces flanked the walls on each side of the door as you entered and a mirrored wall was created on the back wall.

The vanity was a pedestal vanity so there was no wood to give the space a heavy look and feel.

To date this was the smallest space I’ve ever seen used as a bathroom. Small vanities can give a stylish appearance to an outdated space.

Vanities for small spaces come in all types and sizes, everything from antique furniture pieces to contemporary vessel sinks.

These vanities bring a certain elegance to the space in which they are placed.

Depending on the space, you can add cabinets, mirrors and lighting above your vanity.

These vanities will also give a unique design element to the space that it occupies, changing the flow of your room as you enter.

The materials used for some of these vanities are just as interesting.

While granite, glass and tile are great options, it doesn’t take as much of it to cover the surface counter of a small vanity space.

There are numerous faucets that can be used for your corner vanities.

It all depends on the type and style that you choose.

Some choices would be chrome, stainless steel, brass and matte finishes. And the styles and designs of the faucets are fabulous!

Corner vanities offer the creative mind a wonderful opportunity to do custom designs and are usually the first choice when looking for a vanity for your small bathroom space..

These vanities are not limited to small spaces but this is where you will find most of them.
