Bathroom Wall Decor – Adding Color and Texture to Your Bathroom Environment

Bathroom wall decor, how important is it? In the process of renovation, your wall colors will determine just how tranquil (or Not) your space actually is.

Color is everything and the medium that you choose to display your colors is crucial.

There are several options for wall decor and we’ll explore what they are in this article.

There are three important choices to be made when finalizing your wall decor. Will you choose paint, wallpaper or tile?

Or will it be a combination of all three.

Paint - It’s not as simple as it used to be. There was a time when you’d go to your local hardware store or paint shop and choose your paint color based on the chips you’d picked up the week before.

Not anymore!

Now it becomes a full blown planning session as though you’re building this space from scratch.

This is how much time some of you put into choosing your paint colors.

Not only will your wall decor consist of paint but it will be paint that looks like cement or paint that’s had glaze added to it for a faux painted look.

Adding a fresh coat of paint is just the beginning of enhancing your bathroom wall decor.

Wallpaper - Wallpaper can do so much for a room but especially a bathroom.

Of course your choice of paper will be one that can handle the moisture of a bathroom environment but you can make it work.

Wallpaper can add depth and texture as wall decor for your bathroom.

Chosen to coordinate and blend with tile and paint, wallpaper will make your bathroom wall decor exciting to say the least.

Tile - Choosing tile as your bathroom wall décor can be just as time consuming as choosing wall paint.

There are so many choices to make it can be overwhelming.

When working with tile, the beauty of it is that you’re not limited to what would be perceived as for bathrooms only.

Some of the most beautiful mosaic tile is used in kitchens as well as bathrooms.

Colorful glass tile in 1 x 1 inch squares, large ceramic tile or terrazzo stones make beautiful additions as your bathroom wall décor.

Depending on your style of vanity, it can become wall décor itself.

A wall mounted bathroom vanity that looks as though it’s floating, becomes the focal point of your wall and thus “Is” the décor for that particular wall.

Lighting fixtures can also be used as bathroom wall décor.

Wall scones, track light, recessed lights, vanity lights and lights within mirrored walls, are all a part of your bathroom wall décor.

Let’s not forget the architectural features of a wall.

An alcove recessed into your wall becomes a great space for shelving and lighting thereby creating its own unique bathroom wall décor.

Nothing pertaining to your bathroom wall décor has to be boring. The opportunities and the choices are limitless.

So make the best of what is available to you.
